Supporting Small Business at Christmas

Supporting Small Business at Christmas

It feels good at any time of the year but there’s something special about supporting small business at Christmas

Behind all small businesses are real actual people

And knowing you’re putting smiles on their faces always results in a warm fuzzy feeling

It’s important too

Why is Supporting Small Business at Christmas important?

  • They employ half of the working population.
  • And contribute over 1/3 of the turnover of the UK economy!
  • More than a third say they make over 20% of their annual revenue during the festive season
  • They’re so good at what they do.
  • They’re also a pleasure to deal with.  Friendly, courteous, polite and they always get back to you.
  • They need us and we need them. Maybe this year more than ever

Where to look when thinking of supporting Small Business at Christmas

Locally

Locally is a great place to start.  I like shopping locally anyway but even more so at Christmas.  Recipients always appreciate it.  And so do the small business owners.  Win-win!

C and M Organics

Where better to buy your Christmas dinner?  You know where it’s come from when you buy local.  And that it’s full of goodness.  Especially when it’s organic.

Woodsend Christmas Puddings

What about your Christmas pudding?  Made in a farmhouse kitchen?  Yes please!  Doesn’t get much more Christmas than that does it?

I happen to know that these are delicious.  Not too heavy, with a lovely citrussy flavour, these are made using Granny’s special Welsh recipe and homegrown Bramleys.  www.woodsendpuddings.co.uk

Rock’n’Dough Bakehouse

Rock’n’Dough Bakehouse is a small Artisan bakery in Pembrokeshire producing Sourdough and pastries using Organic flours and the highest quality ingredients. They also make some incredible chocolates which are perfect for Christmas. www.rock-n-dough.co.uk

Instagram

If you’re struggling for Christmas gift ideas, Instagram is a great place to find inspiration.

I’ve met some really impressive small businesses (and their owners) here. Some of them unique but all highly passionate about, and brilliant at, what they do.

These are just a few of my favourites.

Leaf Lane Studio

Leaf Lane Studio creates luxury, planet friendly stationery, paper products & gifts for nature loving souls.  What could be better?  www.leaflanestudio.com

The Happy Hour Candle Company ®️

The Happy Hour Candle Company repurposes bottles and turns them into fantastic looking products.  Using plant wax and wood wicks these Eco-Friendly candles add a real touch of class.  thehappyhourcandlecompany.co.uk
